WELCOME

In collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief of ActaHistochemica (Elsevier), Dr. Raymond Coleman, and the Editor-in-Chief of Stem Cell Research and Therapy (BMC) and Birth Defects Research Part C: Embryo Today (Wiley) Dr Rocky S. Tuan, a two day writing workshop has been organized. This is designed to improve writing skills and increase the chances of acceptance of manuscripts submitted to scientific journals. Many manuscripts are rejected because of problems in their presentation or which do not comply with the format or Instructions to Authors. The aim of the course is to point out the pitfalls to be avoided and to provide valuable tips on scientific writing and preparation of manuscripts. A wide range of lectures will be given covering Publishing in the Digital Era; Preparing your manuscripts; Ethics; Abstracts. Key words; Materials and Methods; Presentation of Results and Discussion; References; Sampling and Statistical Errors as well as Round Table Discussions.

The course is designed for all biological and medical researchers and in particular young graduate research students. Particular emphasis will be placed on Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine and Histochemistry and Cytochemistry. Researchers who are members of the Turkish Histology and Embryology Society, The Turkish Society for Electron Microscopy and international (European and Asian) Cell Science Societies who plan to publish their manuscripts are cordially invited to participate in the workshop. We are looking forward to welcoming young researchers in Ankara. The workshop will be held at, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey on October 1 and 2, 2014.
